Baisara Beera - Papon & Kalpana Patowary - Coke Studio@MTV Season 3.

Assam-born, Bhojpuri singing sensation Kalpana Patowary joins Papon bringing forth the rustic elements with consistently impressive backgrounds from traditional instruments and turns it into all out dance-jam track.Baisara Beera, a beautiful folk piece from Rajasthan fusing it with an equally beautiful folk from the other end of the country-an Assamese holi geet in a loosely desh raag-flavored mélange. The arrangement too sees a lovely fusion of folk and western – Sugana Ram’s ravanahatha, harmonium stud Akhlak Warsi, Aslam and Hanif Dafrani’s dholaks all seamlessly melding with Kalyan Baruah and Deepak Saikia’s guitars and Tanmay Ray’s drums among other things. Icing on the cake is of course – flawless singing of Bhojpuri star singer Kalpana Patowary, and giving her solid competition is Papon with his nuanced rendition.

The Singer Quotes:-
Thank you all for expressing your thoughts on BAISARA VEERA,as its valuable and inspiring for any artiste to move forward….thankz Papon for believing in me as this was not something related to Bhojpuri where m proved. just sharing something ..you know,as a child I was not very fond of folk music, as I thought it to be de-glamourised.My folksinger father used to perform with his small troop all over Assam with dotora, dogor (local instruments from Assam). after some time he made me sing along with him which I was not that interested but travelled village to village in Assam with him in bi-cycle. LIFE MOVED ON. by GOD’S grace I became a Bhojpuri singer…here I get to explore from raw folk traditions to the Bhojpuri film glamour world which I enjoy a lot. Even as an artiste I matured and began to understand what actually folk is …depiction of the whole life itself, from birth till death and afterlife how the soul moves on….thru different musical forms its channelized…AAM ADMI KI PASINA ME GLAMOUR KAISE HO SAKTA HAI….how immature I was.…..and when Papon spoke about MTV COKE STUDIO I was so happy…on the first day of rehearsal…the two ends were together..wow! Nathulal Solankiji the senior most Nagada player fom Pushkar, Dulal dada, the tea garden folk singer from my native place..I got nostalgic.

PAPA YAAD AAYE…WO CYCLE PE SAWAAR HOKE PERFORM KARNA….but here the difference was, standing with the FOLK ARTISTS  was Kalyan Baruah(Guitars) ,Vishwesh Krishnamurthythe beatboxing element ..the members of EIC(East India Company)…that differentiation I used to make were faded and infused into the other…
